The VTCT Skills Online Information Webinar, organized by BE'Academy on October 9, 2026, was held with great interest and participation. The event, featuring a comprehensive presentation by our instructor Belgin, covered a wide range of topics, from vocational training and certification systems in the UK to international career opportunities.

BE'Academy added another event to its series of informational activities aimed at helping its students and faculty become more familiar with international professional qualification systems. The webinar, held via Zoom, brought together participants from different branches to share comprehensive information about VTCT Skills training and certification processes.
In the presentation led by Professor Belgin, not only the certification process but also the importance of these systems in terms of educational standards, competency levels, assessment approaches, and international professional development were evaluated in detail.

Education and certification structures in the UK were examined closely!

One of the key topics of the webinar was the functioning of vocational training and certification systems in the UK. Information was provided on VTCT Skills, as well as organizations with different roles and functions such as Ofqual, CIDESCO, CIBTAC, and iTEC.

The presentation focused on the positions of these structures within the education and qualifications ecosystem, their relationships with each other, and their differences. Understanding the distinctions between regulatory bodies, qualification-providing organizations, and training centers was among the key topics of the presentation.

Furthermore, comparisons were made with education and certification practices in Türkiye, and how similarities, differences, and equivalencies should be evaluated was discussed. Thus, participants had the opportunity to more consciously assess the concepts and scope of documents used in different systems.

Proficiency Levels and Training Processes Announced

The event provided detailed information about the competency levels used in VTCT Skills programs and what each level means. The relationship between the levels and learning outcomes and professional competencies was explained, and the importance of students choosing a training program that best suits their goals was emphasized.

Information was also provided on how the education and certification processes proceed, the competencies expected of students, and the assessment approach. Instructor Belgin answered participants' questions regarding program selection, levels, and the certification process.

Throughout the presentation, it was emphasized that when evaluating a training program, attention should be paid not only to the title of the document, but also to its content, the skills it imparts, the evaluation criteria, and the purpose for which the document will be used.

Different Sectors and International Recognition Were Discussed

The webinar also covered the sector-wide range of training and qualifications offered under VTCT Skills. Information was shared about training and certification options available in various professional fields, particularly in the beauty and care sector.

When evaluating the global position, recognition, and professional prestige of these systems, the focus was on how an educational process structured according to international standards can contribute to students' professional development.
